The Elemeno Peas are a funk/soul/R n' B band based out of London, Ontario. From humble beginnings playing at student university parties, the Peas have slowly and steadily gained a reputation for being top rated musical entertainment. Honing their skills while attending school at Western, the band has matured, expanded their playlist and marketability, and built an impressive resume. The Peas play a range of music and styles, yet never stray too far from danceable music. Their originals get steady rotation amongst a crowd-pleasing repertoire of covers. The Elemeno Peas are currently an 8-piece band, with Jenn Kee as their latest addition on vocals. The 3-piece horn section includes J.J. Perlingieri on sax, Dan Hickey on trombone, and Glenn Waugh on trumpet. The rhythm section is comprised of Dave Curto on drums and backing vocals, Dony Bullen on bass, Steve Glowala on keys, and Steve Curto on guitar. Their setlist is comprised of both original music and covers. The Elemeno Peas were nominated for Artist of the Year and Best R&B/Soul Artist at the 2006 London Music Awards, and won the award for Best R&B/Soul Artist. They were also nominated for a 2006 Jack Richardson Music Award, and appeared at both the North by Northeast Festival (2006 & 2007), and Canadian Music Week (2006). |
